Mission Statement
Newark Youth Golf Inc. is a recognized exempt organization under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We are a community based, risk prevention program that uses the fundamentals of golf to remove barriers that would otherwise prohibit these children from participating in a sport that can bring a lifetime of joy and opportunity
Our mission is to Introduce the fundamentals of golf an its principals to the historically underprivileged and economically disadvantaged minority children in the Greater Newark, NJ areas who would normally never get a chance to experience a game for life. Exposure to golf provides participants additional individual skill building better self-esteem, etiquettes, discipline, honor, integrity, broader job opportunities, golf history and simple fun.
History
Newark Youth Golf has been in existence since the early 1980’s when Messrs. Ed Wadood and Wiley Williams along with others begin to formally introduce the game of golf and its principles to socially and economically disadvantage kids in the Newark area.
